Step 6 - Delay, Disruption & Interruption. The infrastructure manager is a primary sender of TrainDelayCauseMessages, TrainRunningInterruptionMessages, and path section modification messages. When trains deviate from the working timetable on the infrastructure manager's network, the infrastructure manager generates the authoritative disruption picture and distributes it to the lead freight RU, the lead passenger RU, the adjacent infrastructure manager, and station managers at the passenger station. Under Annex pt. 2.6.1(7) these train traffic messages constitute appropriate technical means for meeting the traffic and travel information obligations in Art. 10 of Regulation (EU) 2021/782 - an information duty; the passenger assistance and re-routing duties of that Regulation sit with the lead passenger RU and arise separately.
